Coming Soon! The HONEYGUIDE

The Honeyguide, the third book in the Dark Continent Chronicles trilogy is coming soon!

This riveting conclusion to one of today's best Adventure Thriller sagas is on its way and it does not fail to delight.  Thriller writer James Gardner has done it again: he has captured the best and worst of humanity and has pitted them against one another in a sinister, global game of misdirection with the all-too-real threat of nuclear terrorism.  The CIA, the news media, a familiar but now horribly disfigured and wealthy Asian arms dealer, religious extremists and our hero Rigby Croxford are in a race against time and an impending nuclear holocaust.

If you have read the first two books in The Dark Continent Chronicles, The Lion Killer and The Zambezi Vendetta, then you have already been thrust to the edge of your seat through the twists and turns down the rivers of Africa and the minds of some of the most powerful and dangerous people in the world today.

Gardner draws upon over 40 years of intimate knowledge of the toughest back country in Africa and the economic and political forces that shape the corrupt underbelly of  Africa. In The Honeyguide, Gardner brings to a tense and explosive conclusion the deadly plots and wheels within wheels that were put in motion in The Lion Killer and The Zambezi Vendetta.  He again exposes the true animal nature of men as he equates them with another small but cunning creature, The Honeyguide.

"The African black-throated honeyguide is an ordinary looking bird, but it’s far more cunning than most living things.  Honey guides lay their eggs in the nests of other bird species. After the nestlings kill their nest mates, they consume the food foraged by their newly adopted parents. When food is scarce the ravenous chicks sometimes eat their parents.

A symbiotic relationship exists between the honeyguides and the tribes of southern Africa.  The bird leads honey gatherers to wild bee hives. As payment, pieces of the hive are left for the birds to eat. Africans believe that if no payment is left, the honey guide will take revenge by leading honey collectors into the path of a lion.

What Happens When The Haitians Leave Home?

What Impact Will Haitian Earthquake Refugees Have On Its Neighbors?

Many Haitians will leave their island homes –or lack thereof, after the earthquake dust settles and the emergency relief dwindles.  We’ve seen this story before with other island states that have been devastated by natural or manmade disasters.

It is my most ardent hope that they’ll wait for the mountainous waves to stop rolling down unimpeded from the North Atlantic and the Gulfstream to become more user-friendly.  We know what the tragedy looks and feels like when desperate people try to escape to America lacking adequate resources.  But make no mistake about it, they’re coming.  The mass exodus will be underway in earnest around April.  The grumbling about the illegal aliens hasn’t started yet, but it’s about to happen, yet again.

Some Haitians will use the Bahamas as a temporary stopover during their clandestine migration to the United States.  Most of the real estate developments in the Bahamas have gone bust.  There are no jobs and not as many tourists.  This time their landings will be thwarted by the usually easygoing Bahamians.

But, what greater tragedy awaits?
